Customer questions and answers for Swingline Swingline® Standard Staples, ¼" Length, 210 Per Strip, 5000 Per Box, 5 Box Pack

Question

What is the exact specification of your S7035314 staple?

I have had this swingline 101 tacker for what must be 30 years and I cannot get staples in the UK to fit it. the original size your company supplied for it was 101#4 and 101#5. I have used this this gun regularly since i purchased it all those years ago and it still works better than any other similar gun i have tried, but I have just run out of staples. If you can tell me the exact size the 101#4 /5 staples were, I'm sure I can get another 30 years use from this brilliant staple gun.
thanks
David.

Hello,

Our S7035314 staples have a 1/4" leg length and can be used in all Heavy Duty staplers for higher capacities. These are not meant for the use of stapling guns.

It appears the 101 was designed for 1/2" crown staples with 1/4" or 5/16" legs.

Try Stanley TRC604T or TRC605T. I think Arrow #604 or #605 might work too.

Hello,

You can use Rexel No. 23/6 Staples (#2101211) or No. 23/8 (#2101054) for the 101 Tacker.

Question

Which staple has a heavier gauge for my Swingline 101 Tacker, 101-4 or 101-5?

I've used this for upholstery jobs. I'm quite certain that anything thin gauge would not hold and/or would corrode. We live in a corrosive environment. What is the best available replacement staple from any source that you know of?

The gauge (wire thickness) is the same for the 101-4 and 101-5. The -4 has 4/16" or 1/4" legs. The -5 has 5/16" legs.

Try Stanley TRC604T or TRC605T. I think Arrow 404 or 405 might work too. They're 1/2" crown.

Hello,

We recently tested our sister company, Rexel's staples. No. 23/6 staples (#2101211) and No. 23/8 (#2101054) both worked with the 101 Tacker.

Thank you,

Hi - thank you for your question. We currently only manufacture one type of staple that is compatible with the now discontinued 101 Tacker. Swingline® Premium Heavy Duty Staples with 1/4" leg length. (S7035314)

Hello,

Unfortunately, we no longer make staples for this product. The best place to look for a replacement will be other online marketplaces.

Thank you,

Question

Swingline 101 staples?

Do you still make staples for my old Swingline 101 stapler? Information on the body says I need 101-4 or 101-5 staples.
